HARRIS COMPANIES COMPETES IN FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT FOR CROHN’S AND COLITIS
September 10, 2017 – Minneapolis, MN – A nine-man team from Harris Companies St. Paul competed in the Crohn’s and Colitis Flag Football Tournament at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Funds raised will help to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and support the 1.6 million Americans affected by these devastating diseases.

HARRIS COMPANIES PARTICIPATES IN COLLABORATIVE CHARITY EVENT FOR THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
July 21, 2017 – St. Paul, MN – Harris Companies St. Paul and our neighbors – NCCO, EMC Publishing, Summit Brewing – joined together to sponsor and participate in a blood drive for the American Red Cross. Tickets were also sold for a hot dog lunch. All proceeds from these tickets went directly to the American Red Cross. Together, the four organizations donated 33 successful pints of blood and $461!
HARRIS COMPANIES SPONSORS HEARTS & HAMMERS HOME
June 3, 2017 – Minneapolis, MN – Volunteers from Harris Companies and Kraus-Anderson Construction participated in a Hearts & Hammers event restoring a home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Hearts & Hammers is an organization that provides exterior home improvement assistance for senior and disabled homeowners so they may continue living independently.
Seventy six employees from Harris, Kraus-Anderson and a few other organizations collaborated on this effort. The day was spent replacing rotting boards and painting the exterior of the home, trimming trees, weeding and mulching, fixing a wood fence, replacing broken window panes and other improvement projects, enhancing the security and overall appearance of the home.
HiMEC EMPLOYEES VOLUNTEER AT NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION BLOCK KIDS EVENT
January 30, 2017 – Rochester, MN – The southeastern chapter for the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) hosted their annual Block Kids event. Kids in grades 4-6 learned about the construction industry and created their own building from legos, tinfoil and string. HiMEC’s NAWIC members as well as volunteer judges were on hand to encourage and educate the kids during the event.
HARRIS COMPANIES EMPLOYEES PACK 102 BOXES OF FOOD FOR CHILDREN IN NEED
May 5, 2016 – St. Paul, MN – Harris Companies field and office employees came together to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children. The group packed 102 boxes with enough food for 22,032 meals. Boxes are destined for Nicaragua where they will be distributed to children suffering from malnutrition.
SUPERIOR AIR HANDLING DONATES MATERIALS TO REBUILDING TOGETHER NEW ORLEANS
January 2016 – Clearfield, UT – Superior Air Handling donated materials to a home that Clark McCarthy/Hensel Phelps sponsored for “Rebuilding Together New Orleans.” This volunteer group improves quality of life for low income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, disabled, veterans, or single head of households with minor children, through home repair and revitalization of New Orleans’ neighborhoods.

December 18, 2015 – Salt Lake City, UT – Employees from Harris Mechanical Intermountain, Harris Mechanical Intermountain Service and Wasatch Controls volunteered at the Utah Food Bank to pack meals for Utah Food Bank patrons.

November 13, 2014 – St. Paul, MN – The annual Employee Charity Auction held at the St. Paul corporate office was a huge success this year thanks to generous donors and employees. Not only did we meet our goal of $10,000 we surpassed it! Funds raised are going to both The ALS Association MN, ND, and SD chapter, and the Greater Twin Cities United Way.
HARRIS COMPANIES VOLUNTEERS MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO HOME & GARAGE FOR MINNEAPOLIS FAMILY
May 31, 2014 – St. Paul, MN – Harris Companies joined forces with Kraus-Anderson Companies, Inc. to sponsor a Hearts & Hammers – Twin Cities, Inc. home improvement project in Minneapolis.
Hearts & Hammers is a private non-profit organization that provides exterior painting and home improvement assistance for senior and physically disabled homeowners. All projects are completed in a single day and at no cost to the homeowners.
More than 60 volunteers from Harris Companies and Kraus-Anderson Companies, Inc. participated in the home improvements project. Carpenters gathered the week prior to the day long event to re-roof part of the homeowner’s garage, install a new garage overhead and service door, build a new picnic table, and make many additional repairs/replacement to the home.
HARRIS COMPANIES SERVES UP DELICIOUS MEAL AND SMILES AT TWIN CITIES RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
March 2014 – St. Paul, MN – Harris Companies teamed up with Minnesota State Capitol Improvements Project partner J.E. Dunn Construction to provide and serve a delicious home cooked meal to more than 80 people at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Upper Midwest‘s Oak Street facility.
As part of the Cooks For Kids program, a nutritious meal was prepared and brought in that evening by the group to serve the many families staying at the facility whose child is receiving care for a life-threatening illness at a Twin Cities area hospital.
