Sutter Health Eden Medical Center

The Sutter Health Eden Medical Center is a 130-bed, acute care hospital totaling 230,000 square feet. The new state-of-the-art next generation healthcare facility was built to exacting standards developed through an integrated planning process with the construction, design and patient care team that ensured alignment of clinical program elements, building and healthcare features and community goals.

Harris completed the project around existing hospital traffic and activities, while working to cause minimal disruption. During preconstruction, BIM/VDC along with collaborative trade coordination helped Harris perform clash detection and generate rapid estimates to ensure that the project was on time and in budget.

The Sutter Health Medical Center project was delivered using an integrated project delivery (IPD) approach with a shared risk/reward multi-party contract. Harris and ten other trade partners, builders and designers signed an Integrated Form of Agreement (IFOA) Contract which aligned the entire team and allowed us to achieve common goals. The integrated approach facilitated a fast-track design and construction schedule which resulted in an on-time and under budget completion for the project.
