Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion

Harris served as the Engineer of Record for the Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion project in Woodbury, Minnesota. The expansion project encompassed various buildings that included design and installation of the following:

  • Energy efficient, high performance heating and cooling central plant consisting of eight water-to-water nominal 60-ton heat pumps.
  • Ice making central plant consisting of three water-to-water nominal 60-ton heat pumps.
  • Well field consisting of three groups of 50 bores each with five circuits of 10 holes per group. Each hole is approximately 150 feet deep.
  • Solar thermal panel array system consisting of 48 4 x 8-foot solar panels with drain back ability to assist in building heating.
  • Pond loop system consisting of six 40-ton heat exchangers to assist in heat rejection during the summer months.
  • Water-to-water energy recovery coils to assist in either heating or cooling mode depending on the season.
  • Twenty-four 4-pipe heating and cooling fan coils.
