St. Joseph’s Hospital Additions and Renovations

The relationship between HealthEast Care System, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Harris is based on trust and commitment. Beginning in 2005, Harris was contracted to provide complete mechanical design and construction services for a comprehensive makeover of St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Harris provided engineering and construction of plumbing, HVAC, medical gas piping and temperature controls. As with many of our projects, much of the work was manufactured in our shop and installed on-site, allowing us to work more efficiently in the field.

The project’s main focus was the construction of the de Paul Tower, a five-story addition consisting of approximately 175,000 square feet of new space with 90 private patient rooms, radiology and outpatient services. Harris also helped provide a 16,000-square foot material management facility within a new 290-space parking ramp, an expanded emergency department, a renovation of the surgery department and various other remodels/upgrades.

In subsequent years, Harris has provided St. Joseph’s Hospital with work on more than 60 contracts for projects both large and small.
